Don’t get into pastels or drawing much now that I’ve discovered oil paints. But I had fun with this conte of our sideboard with cooking books.

This was a super quick sketch done on cardboard. Great fun to work really quickly on disposable supports and get a sense of freedom and energy into the painting.

This was done as an exercise for my course. The subject was food and we were using a beeswax based medium. Lots of fun working with the palette knife and using scraping and impasto.

Its getting harder and harder not to have a blog these days. As a participant in online art forums, it is almost essential to have a place to post images and ideas about how you created those images. There are so many solutions out there and my current idea is to run this wordpress blog and link to images that I will store on flickr. We’ll see how it goes.
